Say NO to Landfill Works at Ashdown Brickworks, Turkey Road, Bexhill
Our protest group was set up five years ago to fight the concept of using the Ashdown Brickworks as a landfill site.
The Ashdown site
East Sussex County Council and the Government Inspector who presided over the Public Hearing in 2003, believe this is the best possible site to replace the Pebsham landfill site, also in Bexhill, in a few years time. WE DISAGREE.
Wake Up Bexhill! Say NO to Landfill!
You successfully fought to Save Our Seafront, now join us in fighting this potentially disastrous landfill proposal, which will adversely affect not only Bexhill, but also surrounding villages, including Ninfield and Hooe, and our lovely Sussex countryside, including the Highwoods, a Site of Special Scientific Interest.
Unlike the Save Our Seafront Campaign, the fight to stop the landfill proposal is long term. We would ask that you keep this campaign in your mind, do all you can to support Recycling initiatives and ask your local and county councillors what they are doing to stop this proposal. Think about other uses the site could be put to and suggest these to your local councillor.
Please voice your support for BALI and object to the Ashdown brickworks landfill proposal during the current ESCC Public Consultation. Those who wish to comment or object to the ESCC proposed Preferred Strategy for Waste have until the deadline of 15th January 2010.

Help BALI win the fight!
We urgently need volunteers, experts and fundraisers. We need to make the whole of Bexhill and surrounding villages aware of this proposal, which if implemented will cause damage lasting for generations. Help us to stop this area becoming a dumping ground for rubbish from as far away as Brighton.
It's time to show that Bexhill has had enough.
