BALI 100 Fighting Fund
Why do we need this "Fighting Fund"?
The "BALI 100 Fighting Fund" was launched in September because a "War Chest" in the region of £50,000 will be required in order to hire the best advocates to fight any planning application for a landfill site at Ibstock Brick Works in Turkey Road. (This is the only site earmarked for landfill in the whole of Sussex in the County waste plan).
Any appeal has to be made within 6 weeks of a planning application, so we need to be prepared.
It is important for all the residents of Bexhill to appreciate that a landfill site in close proximity of the town will do nothing for its regeneration, will have a serious impact on property prices and will further increase road congestion and pollution.
How can you get involved?
Make your donation today! Booklets that outline the scheme are now being circulated by our team of collectors. However, the same information about the appeal is set out below, and you can download the Donation forms here in:Word format (90kb) or PDF format (74kb). Terms and Conditions are set out in full as part of the form.
BALI are asking residents to donate the sum of £100 or multiples of £100 if you are able. Payments by instalment can also be arranged - please contact the Honorary Treasurer for more information.
Your contribution will be held in a designated account with the Yorkshire Building Society and will only be used to provide legal and professional fees should it be necessary to fight a planning Application or for BALI to lodge an Appeal.
If there is no Application or Appeal "live" in five years the Trustees will immediately wind up the Fund and individual investments, including interest, will be returned.
Should BALI require a percentage of the total fund, the remaining money will be returned, deducting that same percentage from each person's contribution.

Thank you for your support.
LANDFILL IN BEXHILL WILL AFFECT US ALL
THINK ABOUT THIS:
- A landfill site in our town will significantly devalue your property.
- Council rates will rise - someone has to pay to control the resulting effluent.
- Landfill will bring degeneration, however much we try to regenerate our town.
- Landfill will bring pollution, smell, dust, dirt and threaten our water courses.
- Large refuse lorries by the hundreds will ply our roads, increasing noise, congestion and exhaust pollution.
- Landfill dumping with clay excavation and the manufacture of bricks will continue side by side which will hugely increase pollution and noise.
- Landfill will compromise the beauty, the tranquility and the nature reserve of the Highwoods.
- Landfill will bring an increase of seagulls, rats and other vermin to the vicinity.
Lest you forget the horrors of a landfill site, refresh your memory with a visit to Pebsham.
