Generally, all upholstered furniture must comply with existing fire regulations, all glass items over size A4 must be toughened or laminated and mattresses must comply with BS7177. Electrical items are not normally recycled by these organisations but do contact them for specific information.

Bulky Waste:
Rother Council will collect large or bulky items for a charge, by arrangement. Rother classes bulky items as "Generally..white goods and furniture but... more precisely defined as an item which:
- exceeds 25 kg in weight
- will not fit in a cylindrical container 750 mm in diameter and 1 metre in length"
