BALI letter re: Pebsham Tip Proposals

Land to West of Bexhill Cemetery

15/02/07 Planning Permission Granted for Change of Use

Rother District Council Planning Committee granted planning permission (subject to conditions) for change of use of land at St. Mary's Lane from agricultural use to use as a cemetery. The land is adjacent to the Ashdown Brickworks site.

The permission is in accord with the Rother District Local Plan and supports the Council's desire to provide sufficient provision for burial needs for the area.

The Planning Committee approved the grant despite a letter of objection from Ibstock, the owners of the Ashdown Brickworks site.

The Planning Agenda and Minutes from the Committee on the 15th February can be read on the Rother Council Website. Download the minutes from the Rother Council website. (Word format). If you download the Word format Minutes, you will need to refer to page 10 to read the specific grant Ref: RR/2006/3294/3R.

BALI 100 - How can you get involved?

Make your donation today! Booklets that outline the scheme are now being circulated by our team of collectors. However, the same information about the appeal is set out below, and you can download the Donation forms here in:Word format (90kb) or PDF format (74kb). Terms and Conditions are set out in full as part of the form.

BALI are asking residents to donate the sum of £100 or multiples of £100 if you are able. Payments by instalment can also be arranged - please contact the Honorary Treasurer for more information.

Your contribution will be held in a designated account with the Yorkshire Building Society and will only be used to provide legal and professional fees should it be necessary to fight a planning Application or for BALI to lodge an Appeal.

If there is no Application or Appeal "live" in five years the Trustees will immediately wind up the Fund and individual investments, including interest, will be returned.

Should BALI require a percentage of the total fund, the remaining money will be returned, deducting that same percentage from each person's contribution.

Where to send your donations

Please complete the donation form in your booklet, or download it from the website. Please make cheques payable to: BALI 100 Fighting Fund (followed by your name in brackets).

You will receive a written acknowledgement and receipt from the Hon. Treasurer.

As well as urgently needing the donations, BALI desperately need more people to work with on with this appeal and wider campaign work. If you can spare some time, please volunteer!

Thank you for your support.
