BALI on TV

BALI Chairman Nick Hollington was invited by the BBC to appear on the ‘Politics Show’ on 22nd January’.

He first invited viewers to visit the “beautiful Edwardian resort of Bexhill-on-Sea”. He promised they would enjoy it, but stated, “that behind the façade lies serious decline and the local buzzword is ‘regeneration’. He said that efforts to regenerate the town are constantly hampered by East Sussex and Brighton continually regarding the town as their dumping ground. He reminded viewers that Bexhill had suffered 4 landfill sites in the last 50 years and that we simply have had enough. By now it must be someone else’s turn!

Bob Wilkins, ESCC Chair responded by saying that “if there is a planning application, everyone will be able to make their comments”, “but the final decision will be made by East Sussex County Councillors and not by anybody else”.
